Call for Participants in a PhD Project
What is it?
I’m a PhD candidate in media and communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). My PhD project aims to explore the relationship between the media and protest movements. In particular, I aim to examine claims that social media and social networking sights are game changers for protestors.
How will I do it?
- To conduct interviews with protestors who participated in either or both London SlutWalks (2011/12) and with journalists who wrote about them; and
- To analyze mass media coverage and social media texts about the protests.
How can you help?
I am looking for people who participated in SlutWalk London in 2011 and/or 2012, who might be willing to be interviewed for this project, to help me record and analyze this important feminist protest.
Interviews will take approximately one hour, at the interviewees’ convenience and will remain anonymous and confidential.
If you participated and/or know someone who did, please contact me or put them in touch with me to discuss further and set up an interview date and time.
